They could be playing with this scary 3D Mayan-stylized animation. You're welcome for that visual. I've got you covered with my post below, in case you had some trouble summoning that fear.
In 3D model attempt #2, I think I got a better handle on the whole figure and mechanics of how you extract the object, but I think it will be a while until I am able to create something that doesn't look like it was a reject from the casting callback for Child's Play.
In other news, Anthony Daniels (C-3PO from Star Wars) is a visiting professor in my program for this semester (not sure about the next). He is super friendly and nice, and despite my banal elevator conversation with him, seems energized by interacting with us, students. I am using this as an inspiration - if a man who has been in a blockbuster movie franchise for the better part of 30 years can take the time to engage critically with artists around him, to teach and be an all around kind and friendly guy... I can at least try to shed my New Yorky #RBF (b̶i̶t̶c̶h̶ #LEAN-IN).
In further news, today is a sad day. I can't believe it has been 14 years. I miss you, New York.
And yes, I've referenced Child's Play, Star Wars & 9-11 in one blog posting. This is my headspace right now, no point in pretending.
